My SA knows all the common issues across all chassis, I'll see the service manager twiddling with his E28 as I run by the shop on a weekend, and run into one of the techs at CCA events who's there in a personal capacity only. I'm happy to have a great service team, though, and that's what really matters. He's constantly misquoting options and packages (seriously, study the damn order guides, it's literally their job), making assumptions about parts (telling a woman the radar for the ACC was the night vision camera), misquoting technical specs and mechanics (told me how much he loves the DCT in my F92), etc. At my most local dealer, I cringe every time I hear a CA talk. There's literally 1 CA at the 2nd closest dealer to me that is an enthusiast and knows his stuff, I have to travel at least 2 hours to find a second. ![]() I find myself more times than not knowing more than the dealer just based on this forum! Couldn't agree more about the dealers not having info. ![]()
